Tate named registrar

Kimberly Tate was named registrar by the Office of Enrollment Management. She has worked in the Registrar's office since summer 2019 and has served as interim registrar since fall 2021.

Smart Hospital support

A $100,000 gift from longtime UTA benefactors Al Clark and Shalyn Clark will support construction of a modernized Smart Hospital featuring the latest in simulation technology for nursing students.

Former employee donates

Peggy Brandt Brown, a former student success counselor at UTA, has committed nearly $100,000 to support scholarships for UTA’s low-income, first-generation, and underserved students.

Don't Delay: Test soon and treat early for COVID-19

File report if you test positive for COVID-19

Employees and students diagnosed with COVID‑19 are required to report through the Personal Diagnosis Form. UTA no longer requires close contact reporting, but employees and students should still follow the University’s close contact guidance.

Free COVID‑19 testing is available to employees and students at the Curative Testing Center, 435 Spaniolo Dr., in the College Park District. Appointments are strongly encouraged. The University Center testing site has closed. Other testing resources are available online.

New look at Texas

In Sam W. Haynes’ new book, Unsettled Land: From Revolution to Republic, the Struggle for Texas, the professor of history offers a new interpretation of the founding of early modern Texas—with a narrative that challenges the well-known origin story of the Lone Star State.

Yu Zhang, associate professor of civil engineering, will collect historical data about the Brazos River Basin to help the Texas Water Development Board make far-reaching decisions about securing water supplies for Texas’ growing population.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is accepting applications for its Professional Development Fund, which is designed to support employee participation in DEI-focused professional development and career advancement opportunities.

The fund will cover amounts not covered by an eligible applicant's department up to $2,000. Applications must be submitted no less than 60 days before the development opportunity. Learn more and apply.
