UTA closed on 4th

UTA is closed for Independence Day on Monday, July 4, so everyone can celebrate our country's birthday.

Arlington fun, fireworks, parade

Don’t miss Light Up Arlington Sunday, July 3, in downtown Arlington, which includes activities for the whole family and fireworks. Get in on the celebration at the Arlington Fourth of July Parade, which will kick off at 9 a.m. Monday, July 4. Be sure to look for UTA’s festive floats and spirited participants.

Movin’ Mavs Day

After winning 10 national titles, the UT Arlington Movin' Mavs were honored with a proclamation by the Arlington City Council designating June 28 as UTA Movin' Mavs Day.

Military spouse friendly

For its continued commitment to military-connected students, UT Arlington has earned the Military Spouse Friendly School designation for 2022-23 by Military Friendly.

Team recognized

A team from UTA’s Parking and Transportation Services and Department of Civil Engineering received an award for its work on RAPID (Rideshare, Automation, and Payment Integration Demonstration), the on-demand, self-driving shuttle service.

Don't Delay: Test soon and treat early for COVID-19

COVID-19 testing center on campus

Free COVID‑19 testing is available to employees and students at the Curative Testing Center, 435 Spaniolo Dr., in the College Park District. Appointments are strongly encouraged. The University Center testing site has closed. Other testing resources are available online.

Employees and students diagnosed with COVID‑19 are required to report through the Personal Diagnosis Form. UTA no longer requires close-contact reporting, but employees and students should still follow the University’s close contact guidance.

Harvard fellowship

Jamyl Walker, '22 DNP, is the first UTA graduate to be accepted into the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship Program.

Health, spirituality fellowship

Alberto Ortiz-Díaz, assistant professor in history, has received the David B. Larson Fellowship in Health and Spirituality from the Library of Congress.

Peripheral delivery

Kytai Nguyen, professor of bioengineering, is leading a project that will develop biodegradable nanomaterials to deliver medicine to combat peripheral arterial disease.

IPE Faculty Fellows

Mileage rate increases

Effective Friday, July 1, the standard mileage reimbursement rate will increase from 58.5 cents per mile to 62.5 cents per mile. This rate is consistent with the Internal Revenue Service’s standard mileage rate. Call the Office of Disbursements at 817-272-2194 for details.
