Show your appreciation for supporters

Give a big shoutout to the friends, supporters, and donors who contribute to the excellence of UTA’s faculty, staff, and students and be part of a video shown at an upcoming event for donors.

Record a video of you saying “Thank You” to show our friends and supporters love from the Maverick family.

No fancy planning needed. Simply click on the link, follow the directions, look into the camera on your computer, and say "Thank You!" There are plenty of opportunities to rerecord if you aren't happy with your first attempts. Once you are happy with your video, please make sure you hit the "submit video" button and fill in your contact information. You will get an email confirmation that your video was sent.

Or, if you prefer, you can upload a video from your cellphone or computer.

Global extinction crisis

UTA biologists Laura Mydlarz, Luke Frishkoff, and Sophia Passy are tackling the extinction crisis and finding sustainable solutions that promote healthy ecosystems.

Teaching climate change

Cory Forbes, a Fenton Wayne Robnett Endowed Professor of Science Education, is bringing NASA tools into high school classrooms to teach students about climate change. He is the chair of curriculum and instruction and director of UTA’s STEM Education Research Collaboratorium and Resource Center.

Examing the heat wave

Karen Magruder, assistant professor of social work who focuses on environmental justice and green social work, discusses why rising temperatures are exacerbating social and economic inequities.

Student Accounts relocates

Beginning Friday, Sept. 9, the Office of Student Accounts will undergo remodeling and temporarily relocate to Room 123 in the University Administration Building, inside the Office of Admissions. The office will be there through fall. Questions? Email studentaccounts@uta.edu.

LGBTQ+ and STEM

LGBTQ+ professionals in STEM are needed to share their experience of how their identity intersects with their work at Queering STEM 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the Guadalupe Room of the University Center.

Principles of Community In Action

Principles of Community in Action is a workshop to discuss each of the principles and develop a plan to integrate these values into work goals and projects. The next workshop is 9-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9.

Graduate School Expo

Thinking about graduate school? Come to the Graduate School Expo, a free, come-and-go fair provides a chance to chat with representatives from graduate programs from UTA and and other Texas universities and institutions. The expo is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.

LGBTQ+ group for faculty, staff

The new LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Affinity Group (QTA) will host a social 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Sept. 16, in the Rio Grande room in the University Center. The purpose of this affinity group is to promote a sense of belonging at UTA for LGBTQ+ employees and their allies.

UTA Night at the Rangers

Swing for the fences and enjoy UTA Night at the Rangers with your fellow Mavs. The Rangers will play the Oakland Athletics at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Globe Life Field. Tickets start at $17. Buy tickets to the game to be eligible for a special UTA/Texas Rangers hat.

COVID-19 student survey

Students are encouraged to take a survey on their perspectives on COVID-19's influence on faculty policies and course agendas, the ability to obtain accommodations, and student success in the learning environment. This survey is being conducted as part of a Disability Studies Minor internship supervised by the Center for Research on Teaching and Learning Excellence. Take the survey.
