Send a 'Thank You' to UTA Friends and Supporters

Show your appreciation for supporters

No matter how you say it, give a big "Thank You" to the friends, supporters, and donors who contribute to the UTA's excellence and be part of a video shown at an upcoming event for donors.

Record a video of you saying “Thank You” to show our friends and supporters love from the Maverick family. Individuals, groups, departments, or as many folks as you can fit into the image space can give a shoutout.

No fancy planning needed. Simply click on the link, follow the directions, look into the camera on your computer, and say "Thank You!" There are plenty of opportunities to rerecord if you aren't happy with your first attempts. Once you are happy with your video, please make sure you hit the "submit video" button and fill in your contact information. You will get an email confirmation that your video was sent.

Or, if you prefer, you can upload a video from your cellphone or computer.

Presidential investiture

Join fellow Mavericks for the formal inauguration of UTA's 10th president, Jennifer Cowley, at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at College Park Center. A festival reception on Spaniolo Drive will immediately follow the event. An RSVP is appreciated but not required.

Professional Learning Community program offers five groups

The Professional Learning Community program—part of UTA's Quality Enhancement Plan—starts Friday, Sept. 23, with five focus groups:

  • Improving teamwork in your course
  • Finding, using, and creating Open Educational Research materials
  • Creating and using H5P for your online or face-to-face course
  • Digital teaching and innovation
  • Disseminating research

DEI convocation

Register by Friday, Sept. 9, for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Convocation Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Rio Grande Ballroom of the University Center. The topic is "The History of Race and Racism in North Texas and the Future of Equity Work."

Principles of Community In Action

Principles of Community in Action is a workshop to discuss each of the principles and develop a plan to integrate these values into work goals and projects. The next workshop is 9-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9.

LGBTQ+ group for faculty, staff

The new LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Affinity Group (QTA) will host a social 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Sept. 16, in the Rio Grande Ballroom in the University Center. The purpose of this affinity group is to promote a sense of belonging at UTA for LGBTQ+ employees and their allies.

Academic Early Alert

UTA’s new Academic Early Alert (AEA) is a referral program that creates an intervention with academic coaches before students fall behind at any point in the semester. Complete the AEA referral form to help improve student success and retention by connecting students to the Academic Success Center and other resources on campus.

Power Up + Tech Up

Power Up aids transfer students

UTA First-Gen College Education Series

First-generation series adds support

The First-Gen College Education Series provides first-generation college students with additional support to better navigate the college environment. The series starts Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Graduate School Expo

Thinking about graduate school? Come to the Graduate School Expo, a free, come-and-go fair provides a chance to chat with representatives from graduate programs from UTA and and other Texas universities and institutions. The expo is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.

UTA Night at the Rangers

Swing for the fences and enjoy UTA Night at the Rangers with your fellow Mavs. The Rangers will play the Oakland Athletics at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Globe Life Field. Tickets start at $17. Buy tickets to the game to be eligible for a special UTA/Texas Rangers hat.

COVID-19 student survey

Students are encouraged to take a survey on their perspectives on COVID-19's influence on faculty policies and course agendas, the ability to obtain accommodations, and student success in the learning environment. This survey is being conducted as part of a Disability Studies Minor internship supervised by the Center for Research on Teaching and Learning Excellence. Take the survey.
