Digital parking map

Sharareh (Sherri) Kermanshachi, associate professor of civil engineering, has partnered with Modii, the UTA Department of Parking and Transportation Services, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments to develop and evaluate a digital map for UTA parking.

Wellness Wednesday

Faculty and staff are invited to join the Physical Wellness Lunch and Learn Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 12 p.m. at the Maverick Activities Center second floor lounge. Visit go.uta.edu/wellness to learn more.

Prohibited technologies

UTA has published a new standard regarding prohibited technologies to the University's Information Security and Acceptable Use Policy. To learn more about how this could affect you, refer to last week's campuswide notice.

Network Switch Refresh

The Office of Information Technology is updating UTA’s network infrastructure across campus. The project involves building-by-building activity after regular business hours. To view when your building is impacted, visit the project website, which will be updated as the project progresses.

Policy updates

HR-E-PR-01 Staff Employment Procedure

This procedure's name changed from “Employment Procedures” to “Staff Employment Procedure." Types of positions were defined. Procedures were updated throughout to align with current practices, including instructions and requirements for advertising an open position, recruitment, preemployment testing, selection, and offers of employment. In addition, veterans' preference was added to the interview, hiring, and employment offer procedures. Also, a section on “Casual Appointments” was added for nonstudent positions that do not exceed 19 hours per week for a duration not to exceed four months.

HR-E-PR-19 Requesting Disability-Related Workplace Accommodations Procedure

This procedure provides requirements for the steps to request an accommodation based on an employee’s/applicant’s disability. Minor edits were made throughout to update current processes, including how employees and job applicants make a request, manager’s steps for processing the request, granting or denying a request, the appeal process for employees, and monitoring and re-evaluating accommodations. In addition, a section on “Monitoring and Reevaluation of Reasonable Accommodations” was added to assist with longer-term accommodations.

RA-PR-06 Cost Transfers to Grant Project ID’s Procedure

This new procedure was put in place to track costs applicable to grant-sponsored projects. Procedures for cost transfers and roles and responsibilities are defined.
