Zhang named interim dean of libraries

Peter Zhang, currently an associate university librarian, has been named interim dean of UTA Libraries. Zhang has served UTA Libraries since July 2002 in roles that include working in the cataloging unit and serving as the department head for access and discovery.

Inclusive on Purpose

Wellness Wednesday

This Wellness Wednesday, faculty and staff are invited to learn about the financial dimension of wellness with tools for budgeting, saving, and managing finances. Visit go.uta.edu/wellness to learn more and register to attend on Wednesday, March 29.

Pantry donations

The Maverick Pantry accepts gently used household items (i.e., plates, silverware, photo frames, cups, etc.). Items can be dropped off during operating hours Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or in the donation bin near the front door at 520 S. Center St. near College Park Center.

Livongo Information Session

Blue Cross Blue Shield is offering a free webinar to UTA employees on the topic of using Livongo to manage diabetes and hypertension. Join online Wednesday, March 29, at 11 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.

Employee Service Awards

Employees who have served UTA for 10 years or more in five-year increments are invited to participate in this year's Employee Recognition Service Awards, hosted by the Office of Talent, Culture, and Inclusion. View the event page to check for your name and RSVP to attend.

Employees who have served for 25 years or more can RSVP to attend the Service Awards Dinner on Wednesday, April 5, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Those who have been employed at the University for 10, 15, or 20 years can RSVP to attend the Service Awards Reception on Wednesday, April 12, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

National Public Health Week at UTA

Celebrate National Public Health Week with the College of Nursing and Health Innovation April 3-7. Events include seminars on emergency management, rural health, and health equity. To see the full list of events, visit events.uta.edu.

Spring Forward

Get moving with UT System's Spring Forward team challenge. Groups of five to seven participants are encouraged to collectively log 1 million steps April 3-30. For more information and to register, visit go.uta.edu/wellness.

Distinguished lecturer Julieta V. García

The Center for Mexican American Studies presents a lecture by Julieta V. García titled "Persistence Counts" on Wednesday, April 12. Drawing on her experiences as a public servant and community leader, Dr. García will discuss the significance of Hispanic/Latino representation in American society, politics, and higher education.

Alumni night with Mavs Baseball

Join the UTA community for Alumni & Friends Night at Clay Gould Ballpark on Friday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m., as the Mavericks take the field against UT Rio Grande Valley. Admission is free for faculty, staff, and students with a UTA ID.
