Assistant professor of instruction has published four novels in four years

Inspiration struck Seraphina Nova Glass, assistant professor of instruction and playwright-in-residence, on a drive home from rehearsal for a play she was directing at UTA. An avid fan of thrillers and crime fiction, she was listening to one on audiobook when it occurred to her: “I could write one of these.”

As soon as the play closed in October, Glass got to work; by Christmas, she had finished her first novel, Someone’s Listening. By New Year’s, she had landed an agent, and just a few weeks later, she had secured a multibook deal with HarperCollins.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week April 10-14

Public safety telecommunicators, or dispatchers, are vital to the UTA police department’s ability to serve the University community. They ensure vital systems are monitored and communication with our community is consistently available. UTA Police answers and processes approximately 8,000 emergency and non-emergency calls each month. Dispatchers coordinate the response of police and public safety officers, monitor burglar alarms and cameras, and provide valuable information to students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the UTA campus.

Spring Forward
