UTA, TAMU law school to offer dual degree

UTA and the Texas A&M University School of Law are starting two dual-degree programs that will allow students to earn a master’s degree in either business administration or taxation and a J.D. degree in law, concurrently, from each institution.

Samantha Power next for Maverick Speakers Series

The youngest U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power will speak on "The State of the World: Challenges and Opportunities" for the Maverick Speakers Series. Her lecture is 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Texas Hall.

Best for Vets

The Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges 2020 list recognizes UTA as the nation’s No. 1 four-year institution for veterans and their families to earn college degrees.

Celebrate first-generation

Mark your calendar for the First-Generation Celebration 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, on the University Center mall. The event is a resource fair for first-generation students.

'Mumentous' deal

Admission is only $5 to Mumentous at the Arlington Museum of Art during Homecoming week. The deal is for faculty, staff, students, and alumni who wear UTA apparel or a Homecoming mum or garter.

Important Dates

  • Nov. 5—Registration ends for third five-week session.
  • Nov. 6—First day of classes for third five-week session.
  • Nov. 6-7—Late registration for third five-week session.
  • Nov. 11—Census date for third five-week session.
  • Nov. 22—Last day to drop classes for second eight-week session; submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.
Homecoming Bash 2019 with Rich the Kid on Friday, Nov. 8

The Bash is free music-filled night

Multiplatinum rapper Rich the Kid headlines this year's The Bash at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in Texas Hall. Also joining The Bash is DJ Junk Food and UTA alums Sam Lao and TEN! Tickets are free and required.

Policy updated

The Consensual Relationships policy has been updated. This policy applies to all employees, enrolled students, and affiliates at UTA and supports the University’s commitment to a learning and work environment of civility and respect. The policy explains when consensual relationships are permitted at UTA, describes relationships that are prohibited because of a “position of power” between the participants, and details relationships that require a mitigating management plan.
