Common at Maverick Speakers Series Feb. 11

Grammy award-winning artist and activist Common is the next guest for the Maverick Speakers Series Tuesday, Feb. 11, at College Park Center.

The American hip-hop recording artist, actor, film producer, poet, and activist from Chicago is known for his roles in films and television and his lasting influence on hip-hop culture.

Common was nominated for an Oscar, a Grammy, and an NAACP Image Award for his song "Stand Up For Something," which he co-wrote with Diane Warren. He won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role in the film Selma.

Host table at Activity Fair

Registered student groups and community agencies can host an information table at the Activity Fair Day on Wednesday, Jan. 29. Space is limited.
