Black Heritage Celebration

UTA's Black Heritage Celebration day—Saturday, Feb. 1—features a screening of Fannie Lou Hamer’s America, a documentary about the civil rights leader’s struggle in the 1960s, as well as a discussion with the filmmaker, a panel discussion on voting rights, and a variety of programs for youths.

The African American Faculty and Staff Association sponsors the event, along with the UTA Libraries and the Center for African American Studies.

Activity Fair, Rollercade

The Maverick Stampede continues with the Activity Fair on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and Rollercade on Friday, Jan. 31. Both are in the Palo Duro Lounge of the University Center.

Parking, shuttle news

Flu shots are free for registered students at Health Services. Make appointments by calling 817-272-2771 or visiting the Health Services website.

Voter registration

Register to vote in time for the 2020 primaries. Sign up 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through Monday, Feb. 3, on the first floor of the Central Library.

Assist at Internship Fair

Lend a hand at the Internship Workshop & Fair Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the University Center. Register to volunteer by Monday, Feb. 17.

Volunteer at Job Fair

Student volunteers are needed for the All Majors Job Fair Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Maverick Activities Center. Sign up by Friday, Feb. 21.
