Commencement plans are in the works

Dear Mavericks,

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed so much of how we live our lives—and its impact extends to our plans for a spring 2020 commencement, which remains postponed. But here’s one thing that won’t change: our commitment to celebrating you and everything you’ve accomplished on your unique journeys to graduation.

This semester has been anything but traditional, and that goes for our commencement plans as well. UTA is working diligently to make your milestone uniquely meaningful and a happy time for each of you. You have worked hard for this, and we want to celebrate your accomplishments!

Provost Teik Lim has a special message for you.

As we plan, we will keep in mind that you and your families will need time to plan your return trips to campus. We will announce details as soon as health conditions and guidelines allow us more certainty, so keep a lookout in your email and mailbox.

As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please be sure to visit uta.edu/commencement for the latest information and FAQs.

In the meantime, keep your eyes on the ultimate goal. Stay focused on your classes and your studies. Follow the latest health guidelines and guidance on physical distancing. And stay healthy and safe!
