Juneteenth talk connects to current events

Learn about the history of Juneteenth, its cultural significance, and its connection to systemic racism and today's Black Lives Matter protests.

Pamela Safisha Hill, adjunct professor of social work and faculty affiliate with the Center for African American Studies, will lead the discussion on Facebook Live at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 18. If time allows, there will be a question-and-answer session.

Shuttles to suspend service for summer

UTA will suspend shuttle buses on campus until the fall semester. The MavMover shopping shuttle buses will continue operating until Friday, June 19.

Students with an active UTA email will be able to sign up for and request rides from Via. UTA will cover the cost of the current UTA shuttle stops and shopping destinations.

Complete 2020 Census

Mavericks make invaluable contributions to the city of Arlington. Now, you can make an impact by completing the 2020 Census.

The Census is safe and confidential; your information isn’t shared with any other persons, firms, or agencies.

For all students who would have lived on or near campus on April 1, please take less than 10 minutes to log on to my2020census.gov and answer 10 questions about yourself and the roommates you would have been living with on April 1.

Fall classes scheduled as online, in-person, hybrid

UTA students can now see which fall 2020 courses will be taught face-to-face, online, or as a hybrid of the two so they can begin planning for the upcoming academic term.

Please note that this information is subject to change as UTA works through the space allocation process and due to the specific needs of the course. Please contact your advisor with any questions.

Campus digital signs now show MavAlerts

MavAlert, UTA's emergency alert system, has expanded to communicate via digital signs in 190 classrooms, computer labs, and auditoriums across campus.

The digital signs provide rapid emergency notifications in high traffic areas at UTA. The signs also display time, date, closures, and weather updates. Please do not turn off the screens for any reason.

Important dates

Registration is ongoing for fall and summer sessions.

  • June 25—Census date for 11-week term
  • June 29—Last day to drop classes for first five-week term; submit to advisor by 4 p.m.
  • July 3—Independence Day holiday; no classes; UTA closed
  • July 8—Last day of classes for first five-week term
  • July 9—Final exams for first five-week term. Last day to drop for 14-week term; submit to advisor by 4 p.m.
  • July 12—Registration ends for second five-week term
  • July 13—First day of classes for second five-week term
