Face masks required in campus buildings

UT Arlington requires that everyone wear face masks or coverings in campus buildings, including during classes. The only exceptions are when in private offices, alone in labs, and in apartment or residence hall rooms.

Social distance to prevent COVID-19 spread

UT Arlington is adopting a phased approach to safely resuming campus activity, while encouraging social distancing to provide the healthiest possible environment for students, staff, and faculty.

Early voting at MAC

Early voting for the July 14 Texas primary runoff election is through Thursday, July 2, and Sunday-Friday, July 5-10, at the Maverick Activities Center. See times/days. Voters must wear masks inside the building and maintain social distancing.

Tech support during exams

The OIT Help Desk has opened a Student Exam Support queue accessible via phone and chat for students having technology issues during exams. Call 817-272-2208 or go to uta.edu/help/chat.

Fall class schedules

Students can see which fall 2020 courses will be taught face-to-face, online, or as a hybrid of the two so they can begin planning for the upcoming academic term. Read more details.

Request a ride around UTA

Jazz artist makes history

When she was shut down creatively during a pandemic and widespread protests, a North Texas jazz artist Tatiana “Ladymay” Mayfield of Fort Worth made history instead. This spring, the jazz composer, vocalist, and pianist with three albums and a solid fan base in Europe became the first Black American to earn a master’s degree in jazz composition from UT Arlington.

Huckaby, volunteers paint message

Over the weekend, a group of volunteers led by Sedrick E. Huckaby, associate professor of art and art history, painted an anti-racism message onto a downtown Fort Worth street. The words “END RACISM NOW” were painted in black and white over all lanes of traffic in the 800 block of Main Street, immediately north of the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Registration is ongoing for fall and summer sessions.

  • July 3—Independence Day holiday; no classes; UTA closed
  • July 8—Last day of classes for first five-week term
  • July 9—Final exams for first five-week term. Last day to drop for 14-week term; submit to advisor by 4 p.m.
  • July 12—Registration ends for second five-week term
  • July 13—First day of classes for second five-week term
