Join Student Affairs for an online series about the fall semester for students and their parents or family. The first session focuses on fall academic plans and is at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 23. Upcoming sessions look at student life and safety.

Thorough, frequent cleaning regimen

Everyone on campus for the Fall 2020 semester will see a beefed-up cleaning regimen to comply with UT Arlington’s adherence to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Daily health screening required

Before reporting to campus each day, all faculty, staff, and students must perform a daily health screening, which includes a temperature check and self-monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms.

The Office for Students with Disabilities has changed its name to the Student Access & Resource Center to improve connection with students who have accessibility needs and to encompass aspirations of growth.

Message concerning international students

"We are committed to supporting our international students and will continue to do everything we can to provide a supportive and fair learning environment," Interim President Teik Lim said in a recent message to campus.

Railroad crossing closures

Union Pacific Railroad will replace ties on its tracks through Arlington Wednesday-Tuesday, July 22-28. See what crossings are closed when.

The Heights on Pecan

Roof work at The Heights on Pecan will begin Monday, July 27, and continue for four weeks. Residents may park in lot 56, which is north of the apartments, or lot 53 at Pecan and Mitchell.

Fall 2020 courses

The list of Fall 2020 courses in MyMav now includes information on whether each class will be taught face-to-face, online, or a mix of both (hybrid).

FabLab virtual workshops

Watch workshops on the FabLab Facebook page covering 3D modeling in the free program Tinkercad. The next one is 3 p.m. Thursday, July 23. See previous workshops on the UTA Libraries YouTube channel.

Teams expands views

Teams now allows you to see up to 50 people in video chats by using Large Gallery View. You also can engage in a virtual room by using Together Mode. Read the details.

Free masks

Reusable, washable fabric face masks for individuals are available at Central Library and the Information Desk at the University Center. Please call 817-272-3395 for availablity.

Important dates

Registration is ongoing for the fall semester.

  • July 23—Last day to drop for 11-week term; submit to advisor by 4 p.m.
  • Aug. 3—Last day to drop for second five-week term; submit to advisor by 4 p.m.
  • Aug. 12—Last day of classes for second five-week term
  • Aug. 13—Final exams for second five-week term; last day of classes for 11-week and 14-week terms
  • Aug. 17-18—Final exams for 11-week and 14-week terms

Student resources

Financial Assistance: The UTA Emergency Assistance Fund is for students with a temporary financial hardship.

Food Pantry: The UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry is open to any UTA student with a UTA ID. For a pick-up time, email utafoodpantry@gmail.com. For questions, call 817-274-0383.

Mental Health: Counseling and Psychological Services' on-call counseling staff is available 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call 817-272-3671 to plan a consultation. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or the MavsTalk 24-hour crisis line at 817-272-8255.
