Cheers! to the Class of 2020. Thursday, Dec. 17, 7:30 p.m. via livestream at uta.edu/commencement.

What's your first destination?

Fall 2020 graduates are encouraged to take a first destination survey from the Lockheed Martin Career Development Center. The survey will be open on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Enter Grad Cap Contest

Graduating Mavericks can submit their grad cap designs for the #ForeverMaverick Grad Cap Contest. Entries are due by Thursday, Dec. 17. Voting is Friday, Dec. 18-Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Learn more about pass/fail option

Learn more about the pass/fail option at the pass/fail listening and information session at 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17. Students may submit questions during the live session. The session will be recorded. See the Dec. 9 listening session.

The policy allows each student to request up to two courses for pass/fail grading. See the full list of fall 2020 courses available for the pass/fail grading option under this policy.

Students considering the pass/fail option should:

  • Consult with their advisors about the pass/fail option.
  • Submit a pass/fail grading request form 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22. The form will not be accessible until Dec. 21, but the link should be bookmarked.

Visit the Fall 2020 Pass/Fail Student FAQs page for answers to many questions you may have about the policy and process.

Emergency generator testing Friday

Facilities Management will test the emergency electrical generators 1:30-4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18.

Affected buildings are Amphibian & Reptile Research Center, Carlisle Hall, Center for Innovation building, Central Library, Chemistry & Physics building, Chemistry Research building, College of Business building, College Park Center, College Park District Central & South, Davis Hall, Engineering Research Building, Hammond Hall, Health Center, Kalpana Chawla Hall, Life Science Building, Maverick Activities Center, Pickard Hall, Police Building, Science Hall, The Commons, The Heights on Pecan Apartments, Trimble Hall, University Center, University Hall, and West Hall.

Not included in the testing are buildings that have generators.

This testing will only affect the electrical services tied to each building’s generator, not the entire building. There will be a slight “blip” lasting approximately one half of a second. The testing period will last less than 30 minutes in each building.

Save any computer work/data in progress to prevent any possible data loss.
