Commencement ceremonies continue

Commencement ceremonies continue through Saturday, May 15, at Globe Life Field, with a virtual ceremony on Sunday, May 16.

If you don’t have a ticket to see the ceremonies in person, you can view them on the UTA livestream.

Business No. 1 in diversity

The College of Business is No. 1 in the nation for diversity of its students, according to Poets & Quants for Undergrads. In fall 2020, 70.5% of students entering the college were underrepresented minorities.

Nursing scholarship honor

Jordan Dudley, a Doctor of Nursing Practice student, received the Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation/Proctor & Gamble Gastroenterology Scholarship Award for leading a pilot study on improving outcomes for colonoscopy patients.

RAPID accessibility

Arlington RAPID is the newest way the city of Arlington is working to improve access to public transportation for residents and visitors who use wheelchairs or require mobility assistance.

MavElite tour guides needed

MavElite tour guides are needed to lead walking campus tours for prospective students, their families, school/community groups, and VIP guests. Apply through Monday, May 31, on Handshake.

Students graduating in May 2021 should complete the Undergraduate Exit Survey—available through Canvas—by Monday, May 31. Responses are confidential. Eligible students will receive survey invitations from iersurveys@uta.edu.

  • May 16—Registration ends for summer intersession, 14-week term, and first seven-week term.
  • May 17—First day of classes for summer intersession, 14-week term, and first seven-week term. Late registration for summer intersession.
  • May 17-18—Late registration for 14-week term and first seven-week term.
  • May 18—Census Date for summer intersession.
  • May 20—Census Date for first seven-week term.
  • May 26—Last day to drop classes for summer intersession; submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.
  • May 31—Memorial Day Holiday.

Steam outage planned

The Thermal Energy Plant has planned its annual outage of campus steam service to complete inspection and repair requirements of the system components. The outage is scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday, May 17. Normal operations should resume by 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 22.

During the time designated, the buildings served by the Thermal Energy Plant will be without hot water and steam, including heated water for the swimming pool. Electrical power, air conditioning, chilled water, and domestic cold water services will still be available.
