Interim President Teik Lim reflects on his four years at UT Arlington

Interim President Teik Lim completed four years of service at UTA at the end of June. He joined the University in 2017 as provost and vice president for academic affairs and as a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He was appointed UTA’s interim president in the spring of 2020. After four years on campus, he reflected on the milestones that contributed to UTA’s success and transformed the University.

Undergrad Exit Survey

Students graduating in August 2021 should complete the Undergraduate Exit Survey in Canvas by Tuesday, Aug. 31. Responses are confidential. Eligible students will receive survey invitations from iersurveys@uta.edu.

Math boot camps

Mathematics boot camps in general math, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus I foundations will give you a jump-start on the fall semester. The online sessions are three hours daily for one week, starting Monday, Aug. 2.

COVID-19 2021-22 Campus Operation Plan

UT Arlington’s plan for a full return to campus for the fall 2021 semester remains on track thanks to a continually improving outlook for COVID‑19 and the dedicated efforts of all Mavericks. Emergency funds for students

Thanks to federal funding, UTA is providing Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund grants to currently enrolled (summer 2021) eligible students in the amounts of $1,200 for traditional students and $700 for Accelerated Online students.

You can apply for this grant by logging into your MyMav account, clicking the "MyForms" tile located on the UTA Student homepage, and clicking the "Fill Out a New Form" button. Read the FAQs for more information.

Network maintenance on three Sundays

The UTA network will undergo maintenance from 2‑7 a.m. on Sundays, July 18, July 25, and Aug. 1. Employees and students can expect intermittent interruptions to the network during the maintenance periods.

During the July 25 maintenance period only, the UTA Police Department’s main phone number will be unavailable. For emergency help, contact the alternative police emergency dispatch line by calling 817‑371‑0850. Employees and students will also experience intermittent interruptions to University telephones during this period.

  • July 22—Last day to drop classes for 11-week term, submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.
  • Aug. 3—Last day to drop classes for second five-week term, submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.
  • Aug. 5—Last day to drop classes for second seven-week term, submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.
  • Aug. 12—Last day of classes for 11-week term, 14-week term, and second five-week term.
  • Aug. 16—Last day of classes for second seven-week term. Final exams for second five-week term.
  • Aug. 16-17—Final exams for 11-week term and 14-week term.
  • Aug. 17—Final exams for second seven-week term.
  • Aug. 18—Commencement ceremonies.
