Mavericks have Olympic history

UTA alumnus Emil Blomberg, shown above, recently joined the ranks of other Maverick athletes who have competed in the Olympics.

Blomberg finished 13th in the second heat of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase Friday at the Olympics in Tokyo. The former Maverick trackster competed with his home team, Sweden. Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco won the gold medal in the finals Monday morning.

Delta variant Q&A

Public health experts with the College of Nursing and Health Innovation share their expertise with the UTA community on the importance of getting vaccinated, even for the young and healthy, as well as why vaccines are important in fighting COVID-19. They also discussed recent developments with the Delta variant, masking, and how to combat misinformation.

Mask best practices

In light of new guidance about masking from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), UT Arlington reminds you of some best practices we can all uphold to maintain our commitment to the safety of our Maverick community.

UTA is continuously monitoring the latest guidance from the CDC and the state of Texas. The academic year 2021‑22 Campus Operations Plan remains the most up-to-date source for the University's comprehensive plans and response to COVID‑19.

Parking permits available

Parking permits are on sale through MavPark. See the rate card. The 2021-22 permits go into effect Saturday, Aug. 21. If returning to campus before that date, purchase a one-day or one-week permit or pay hourly and day rates for street meters and garages.

Find the places you can park on the new UTA parking maps website.

Read about the changes for fall 2021 parking and 2021-22 parking regulations.

Be air friendly

One way to participate in Clean Air Action Day—Wednesday, Aug. 4—is to take advantage of transportation options around campus, such as using ride-share and car-share programs or riding a bicycle. Learn more at Air North Texas.

Teams recordings

On Saturday, Aug. 14, Microsoft will store recordings of Teams meetings in OneDrive or SharePoint and perform upgrades to Stream. This will improve access to recordings, but certain features will be temporarily unavailable. Visit the OIT website to learn more.

External emails marked

Beginning Thursday, Aug. 5, emails sent from outside UTA will be marked with [External] as a reminder that the email was sent from an external sender. This serves as an added layer of protection to caution users about opening external emails. Visit the OIT website to learn more.
