Congratulations to the Class of 2021!

Thousands of workforce-ready graduates will cross the stage Friday-Saturday, Dec. 17-18, during three in-person Commencement ceremonies at Globe Life Field.

UTA received nearly 5,400 graduation applications for fall 2021 commencement, which includes a virtual ceremony scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 16. As graduates of the fourth Texas Tier One institution in the state, UTA’s commencement candidates will be among approximately 250,000 Maverick alumni across the state and around the globe.

Donate cap and gown for future grads

Graduating students are encouraged to make plans to donate their cap and gown to the Maverick Pantry to help future graduates who may not be able to afford regalia gain the complete Commencement experience.

Caps and gowns can be dropped off 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Dec. 20-21, at the Maverick Pantry, 520 S. Center St.

You can also contact eaf@uta.edu to make donation plans.

Police training on campus Friday

Take COVID-19 test before, after holidays

All Mavericks are encouraged to get tested before and after traveling or attending large gatherings over the winter holiday.

Symptom-free individuals seeking proactive testing or required testing can be tested in the Carlisle Suite of the University Center. Appointments are required. The testing site will be closed Friday, Dec. 24-Sunday, Jan. 2.

Individuals with symptoms should make an appointment at the testing site in the College Park District. The testing site will be closed Friday-Sunday, Dec. 24-26, and Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 1-2.

Regardless of vaccination status, all students and employees coming to campus in any capacity for the spring semester must provide proof of a viral COVID‑19 test by Friday, Feb. 4. Tests taken before Monday, Jan. 3, will not be accepted.

Holiday Recycling Guide

Holiday recycling nice and naughty lists

Recycling during the holiday season is a must, but even the most ardent recyclers need to know what belongs in that bin, what should be reused, and what, unfortunately, must go in the trash can.

UTA’s Sustainability Committee relied on the University’s recycling partner, Balcones Resources, to develop nice and naughty lists for holiday season recycling.
