COVID-19 vaccines, boosters Wednesday

UTA has scheduled additional on-campus clinics to offer the COVID‑19 vaccines and booster, free of cost, to UTA students, employees, and their families and dependents. The next is Wednesday, March 2.

At UTA’s on-campus clinics, operated in partnership with Walmart, individuals 12 and older can receive first and second doses of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Booster doses are available for all eligible individuals.

Each clinic will operate on a walk-in-only basis 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Room 102B in the Maverick Activities Center. Other clinics are on Wednesdays, March 16 and March 30.

Apply for graduation now

The deadline to apply for graduation is today, Tuesday, March 1, for eligible graduates who plan to participate in spring 2022 ceremonies.

Center for Rural Health and Nursing launched

The College of Nursing and Health Innovation has launched the Center for Rural Health and Nursing to enhance access to health care for Texas’ rural communities and to improve rural nursing education.

SBC indoor track wins

The UTA track and field teams earned several first place awards in individual and team events at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships. Overall, the women placed third and the men were fifth. Read the final results.

Lady Mavs get SBC honors

Sun Belt Conference basketball honors included Lady Mavs player Starr Jacobs as Player of the Year and coach Shereka Wright as Coach of the Year. Jacobs made the All-SBC first team and Terryn Milton is on the second team. UTA's David Azore made the men's All-SBC first team.

Polar bear plunge

Take a dive at the Polar Bear Plunge on Tuesday, March 8. Entry is free with a donation for the Maverick Pantry. Register online (go to the event date to see time slots) or at the indoor pool.

Bed Races

Sign up early for the Bed Races for a discount entry fee. Teams of five can register for $40 until Friday, March 11. The price increases to $50 after that. The annual race is Wednesday, March 23. The theme is "Candyland."

Library mural competition

UTA Libraries is hosting a mural competition to select a work to be displayed in the Central Library. The winning artist also will receive a $250 UTA Bookstore credit. The theme is “Justice in My Eyes.”

Be part of fair

Be part of the Student Organization Fair to spread the word about your group and recruit new members. The fair is Wednesday, March 23, on the University Center mall.

Planetarium show schedule

UTA Planetarium has returned to in-person shows on Saturdays. Tickets are available at the box office.

Give your feedback on bicycle infrastructure, behavior, amenities, and services on campus and Downtown Arlington. Results will be used in the creation of a well-connected and safe bike network in Arlington.
