Lady Mavs basketball team wins Sun Belt Conference championship

Lady Mavs win Sun Belt Tournament, head to NCAA tourney

The UT Arlington women's basketball team wrapped up its last Sun Belt Conference Championship with a 76-61 victory over top-seeded Troy on Monday.

With the win, the Lady Mavs advance to their third NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2007.

UTA will learn its opening opponent during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 13, on ESPN. Information regarding a public watch party for Lady Mav fans and supporters will be announced in the coming days.

COVID-19 vaccines, boosters on campus

UTA has scheduled additional on-campus clinics to offer the COVID‑19 vaccines and booster, free of cost, to UTA students, employees, and their families and dependents. The next are Wednesdays, March 16 and March 30.

Each clinic will operate on a walk-in-only basis 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Room 102B in the Maverick Activities Center.

At UTA’s on-campus clinics, operated in partnership with Walmart, individuals 12 and older can receive first and second doses of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Booster doses are available for all eligible individuals.

Spring Break is coming!

Enjoy time off for Spring Break—Monday-Friday, March 14-18. Much of UTA will still be open for those who need to study, look for a job, grab a bite, or be entertained.

Military Friendly designation

UT Arlington received a top 10 Military Friendly® School designation for 2022-23 for setting up military-connected students for success both in and out of the classroom.

Student engagement survey

First-year students and seniors who complete the National Survey of Student Engagement before Sunday, May 15, will be eligible to enter a drawing for one of 20 $100 Amazon gift cards. Eligible students can access the survey through Canvas.

Wheelchair basketball national championships at CPC

UTA will host the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Intercollegiate Championships Thursday-Saturday, March 17-19, at College Park Center. The Movin' Mavs hope to retain the title, and the Lady Movin' Mavs aim to collect their third championship.

'A Tribute to Nurses' exhibit

In honor of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation’s 50th anniversary, Special Collections is hosting the new exhibit, A Tribute to Nurses: UTA and Beyond.

Bed Races

Sign up early for the Bed Races for a discounted entry fee. Teams of five can register for $40 until Friday, March 11. The price increases to $50 after that. The annual race is Wednesday, March 23. The theme is "Candyland."
