Gather for a Maverick Thanksgiving

UTA's annual campus-wide Thanksgiving Dinner is 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Connection Café in the University Center. Students on a meal plan will be able to attend for free; students without a meal plan can purchase tickets for $7.

New MavPlanner, MavScheduler available in MyMav Dec. 1

Beginning Thursday, Dec. 1, MyMav will feature MavPlanner and MavScheduler to allow students and academic advisors to create a personalized multi-year degree plan directly in MyMav.

This update replaces the third-party Degree Map Solution and Smart Scheduling Tool. Access MavPlanner, which includes MavScheduler, by logging into MyMav and selecting the “Manage Classes” tile to start mapping your path to graduation.

Check holiday hours for campus dining, UTA Libraries, and the Maverick Activities Center. Shuttles will run the Red and Green routes on Wednesday with no service Thursday-Sunday. The courtesy escort service will be closed Thursday night.

Students can apply for Federal Student Loan Debt Relief through Dec. 31, 2023.

The program provides eligible borrowers with full or partial discharge of loans up to $20,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients and up to $10,000 for non-Pell Grant recipients.

Hispanic postbaccalaureates

UT Arlington has received a $3 million, five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans program.

Landscape honors

Graduate students won a national Student American Society of Landscape Architects Honor Award for their work on the Bottom District, a historic Freedmen’s town next to the Trinity River in Dallas.

Holiday Lights Parade

Bring friends and family to downtown for the annual Arlington Holiday Lights Parade Saturday, Dec. 10. Before the parade is reindeer games at the George W. Hawes Library, events at the Levitt Pavilion, and pictures with Santa.

Holiday glass sale

The Holiday Glass Art Pre-Sale is open for departments, faculty, staff, and students 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Studio Arts Center. Bring your UTA ID. A sale open to the public with demonstrations is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.
