Prepare for the Fair

Attend Prepare for the Fair Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to receive advice on how to introduce yourself to employers and learn the best practices for how to navigate a job fair.

In partnership with JCPenney, UTA's Career Development Center provides students and alumni opportunities to purchase professional attire at deep discounts to help them prepare for upcoming internship or job interviews. Visit Handshake for details about the event.

CAAS conference

The Center for African American Studies presents its 11th annual conference Thursday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will hear about various topics critical to the theme of Black culture and institutions, including a special presentation by Opal Lee. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Fine art exhibit

UTA Fine Art Collections presents The Art of Observation from now until Friday, May 5. The opening reception is Thursday, Feb. 16, from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Visual Resource Commons and Gallery.

Nominate your peers

The Outstanding Student Leader Awards recognize students for their commitment to community, demonstrated leadership skills, and lasting impact at UTA. UTA faculty, staff, and students are invited to nominate any student leader for this year's awards. Submit your nominations by Friday, Feb. 17.

Media jobs tour

UTA students majoring in media-related fields are welcome to register for the Alliance for Women in Media's 13th Annual Student Media Tour, a one-day tour of broadcast studios, advertising agencies, sports marketing firms, and digital venues. Participants are encouraged to bring their résumés to submit interest for summer internships and entry-level jobs. Register early to attend the tour Friday, March 10.

International Career Week

The Department of Global Engagement presents its inaugural International Career Week beginning Monday, Feb. 27.

Maverick Monologues

The Relationship Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention program, in partnership with the School of Social Work, is requesting submissions for its event "Maverick Monologues." All Mavericks are invited to submit their stories for consideration. To learn more, contact Lex Bocanegra.

TExBioMed Summer Institute

The Training and Experiential Learning in Biomedical Informatics (TExBioMed) Summer Institute at UTA supports short-term training that prepares undergraduate students for biomedical informatics and data science graduate studies and research careers. Eleven students will each receive a $7,200 stipend to participate. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Women's Summit

The UTA Women's Summit on Wednesday, March 8, is open to students, faculty, staff, and the North Texas community. Participants must register to attend by Friday, March 3.

A Conversation with Indra Nooyi

The Maverick Speakers Series presents Indra Nooyi Tuesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. Nooyi is an experienced leader in the business world and has held executive positions at major companies all over the globe. She is also a revered role model for women and immigrants and celebrated for her empowering messages on inclusivity.
