Culture and inclusion

The Office of Talent, Culture, and Inclusion has hired two new positions that will support student and employee success. Cruz Imelda Wicks has accepted the role as the new assistant vice president of inclusion and belonging, and Maria Delgado will be the senior director for Hispanic-Serving Institutions.

Nursing student from Ukraine saves family

For Olexandra Shevchenko, a registered nurse and a student in UTA's Family Nurse Practitioner program, her job and her studies usually came first. But in February 2022, her focus turned elsewhere: her home nation of Ukraine, which had been invaded by the Russian military.

Graduate tuition assistance

Beginning this semester, the University will expand graduate tuition support to cover 100% of tuition and mandatory fees for students enrolled in a Ph.D. program and students pursuing the degrees of Master of Fine Arts, Master of Landscape Architecture, and Master of Architecture.

9Ds Wellness Fest

The 9Ds Wellness Fest will be held on Wednesday, March 8, in the Palo Duro Lounge. There will be fun activities for students such as a photo booth, 90s music, and giveaways. UTA and community vendors will provide information and resources on how they support the different dimensions of wellness.

Maverick Experience

UTA will welcome prospective freshman and transfer students on campus for Maverick Experience on Monday, March 13. This event is the perfect way for prospective students and their families to learn about all the amazing things UTA has to offer.

Mavericks who order a ring by Friday, March 10, can participate in the UTA Maverick Ring Ceremony Thursday, April 27. Shop for your ring online at Josten's.

Doggy Days

Visit the Central Library to de-stress with some of the cutest pups in Arlington Wednesday, March 8. No sign-ups are required. Time slots are made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A Conversation with Indra Nooyi

The Maverick Speakers Series presents Indra Nooyi Tuesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. Nooyi is an experienced leader in the business world and has held executive positions at major companies all over the globe. She is also a revered role model for women and immigrants and celebrated for her empowering messages on inclusivity.

Education Career Day

Mark your calendar for Education Career Day, a spring hiring fair hosted by the College of Education’s Office of Educational Field Experiences. The Monday, March 27, event is open to UTA students and alumni who are interested in careers in K-12 education.

Jazz Brunch

Jazz Brunch is back! Visit the Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth on Saturday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a special UTA brunch with live jazz performances. More information and tickets at give.uta.edu/jazzbrunch.
