Greetings,

Last Monday, hundreds of UTA students and members of the Arlington community came together for a day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Volunteers helped dozens of organizations, families and individuals across Arlington with efforts big and small. Led by the Arlington MLK Committee, various UTA groups, local schools and organizations joined in these efforts with the single purpose of using their day off to give back to our community.

The Arlington MLK celebration spanned over four-days, including the “Advancing the Dream” Awards Banquet at UTA, where I had the privilege of offering the welcome remarks. I am always inspired to see our students answer the call to serve their communities. They exemplify the Maverick spirt we foster at UTA, where our students feel empowered to use their knowledge and talents to improve the lives of their families and communities—making this world a better place for all.

To you, our state, local, and community leaders and supporters, thank you for all you do to help UTA positively impact the lives of people across the state through the promise of education. You make what we do possible—you are advancing the future, today.

Sincerely,
