  Dr. Jennifer Cowley

Greetings,

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, this is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how much there is to be grateful for at The University of Texas at Arlington. I am incredibly thankful for our dedicated faculty and staff, our talented students, our thriving alumni, and our many generous and supportive donors and community partners. Together, they are making a difference through their education, research, and service, which in turn makes our community and our world better.

UTA is a place of boundless opportunity for our students, and I am proud that we can continue to work on expanding access to our students. A new $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education is helping us in this endeavor, one of many ongoing projects to ensure access to underserved student populations across the region. We are also focused on filling important gaps in the workforce and ensuring our students have the skills necessary to step into high-need and critical-impact jobs through new and advanced programs.

This month, our latest efforts provide insight into the innovation and ingenuity of our researchers in tackling some of today’s biggest problems through even bigger solutions. Their ideas never cease to amaze me—from robots to bioactive materials to lasers—as they show how we are at the forefront of innovation and discovery.

As you celebrate with friends and family this holiday season, I want to share how appreciative I am of you and of our entire Maverick family. I celebrate the difference we are making together and wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Cowley signature
