Construction on the Engineering Research Building is bringing dramatic changes to the north side of campus. The façade of the 234,000-square-foot structure is complete, and work has begun inside to install sheetrock, ceiling components, lab equipment and interior finishes. Scheduled to open in early 2011, the $116million facility includes space for multidisciplinary research and teaching labsfor the College of Engineering and the College of Science and is being designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
