Welcome to the District
College Park District is the most ambitious project in UT Arlington history—practically a campus in and of itself. Spanning more than 20 acres, the $160 million development is a place where students, neighbors, and visitors can intermingle while enjoying stellar entertainment, sports, and restaurants.
The impressive complex includes a broad range of amenities, with the University's special events arena—College Park Center—as its focal point. Opened in early 2012, the state-of-the-art facility regularly hosts basketball and volleyball games, concerts, lectures, commencements, and numerous other high-profile events. Located next to the arena is The Green at College Park—an inviting oasis where students and neighbors can gather, relax, and play—and the multi-use College Park building. The latter is home to two student residential complexes (The Lofts at College Park and Vandergriff Hall), as well as a variety of popular restaurants, an 1,800-car parking facility, the Dan Dipert University Welcome Center, and a University police substation.
The entire College Park District, from UTA Boulevard to Mitchell Street, has been helped along significantly by donors, the City of Arlington, the First Baptist Church-Arlington, and numerous other community partners and friends. Stop by to experience all that it has to offer and you'll see that it's just one more example of how UT Arlington is transforming itself into a world-class institution.
