Welcome Dean Doughty!

UTA's nationally-recognized College of Education has attracted another outstanding leader to Texas. Dr. Teresa Taber Doughty, associate dean of learning at Purdue University, was named the new dean of the college and will begin her tenure on August 1. Her arrival is an example of UTA's commitment to produce tomorrow's leaders in education and will further enhance the University's established relationships with P-12 schools around the country. UTA is leading the way in the state's 60x30TX initiative, and Dean Doughty's reputation will strengthen the University's role in national conversations about education.

Start Your Engines

The UTA FSAE Racing Team will take to the track this weekend as part of the 16th Annual Texas Autocross Weekend. UTA's racing is internationally recognized and has been ranked as high as fourth in the world. New to the event this year, the team will bring an electric car to compete for the fastest time in a number of different courses created to test the design and engineering of each car. Races begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at UTA's Lot 49 at the intersection of Cooper and Mitchell Streets. Admission is free and the general public is encouraged to attend.

The Gold Standard

The summer issue of UTArlington Magazine, now available online, features several UTA students and alumni pursuing their dreams of becoming U.S. Olympians. Their efforts are putting UTA Athletics on a world stage and showcasing the tremendous amount of talent on our campus. The list of athletes includes competitors vying for spots in men's track and field, basketball, men's and women's wheelchair basketball, men's wheelchair tennis, and Paralympic sports such as long and triple jump, racing, shotput, javelin, and men's rugby. Congratulations and good luck to all UTA athletes!

Career Development Center Ribbon Cutting

The much anticipated opening of UTA’s Career Development Center is growing nearer. On August 23, Dr. Karbhari and a host of others will officially cut the ribbon on the renovated building space. Current students and alumni are welcome to use the resources of the development center to learn how to further their careers.

UTA Night at the Rangers

As part of the Texas Rangers University Days, UTA students, alumni, and faculty and staff are invited to take in a baseball game at Globe Life Park. More details about game time and other UTA-specific information will be determined later this summer.

UTA Night at FC Dallas

Join area UTA alumni as we gather to cheer on FC Dallas against the Seattle Sounders FC at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and tickets will be available through UTA Alumni Relations soon. Be sure to check with us as details for pre-game activities will be announced this fall.
