Investing in UTA

UTA continues to pave the way for developing tomorrow's workforce and is doing so by building partnerships with trusted industry and community leaders. In support of the new Career Development Center at UTA, Texas Trust gave $100,000 at a check presentation last week. The gift will help fund programs for students and alumni to learn how to meet the fast-paced demands and constantly evolving nature of today's economy and workplace. It is a significant investment in our community, regional economy, and the state of Texas.

No Rest for the Weary

From the 4th of July Parade to recent alumni focus groups, your University has been busy making our community better. Alumni involvement has become crucially important to building UTA’s reputation as a nationally recognized school of choice. Read President Karbhari’s blog to learn how you can get more involved or contact us to get connected in the vast network of Mavericks around the world all determined to extend UTA pride to the ends of the earth!

The Final Frontier

Two students from UTA were named finalists in NASA's Micro-g NExT competition as part of a local team. Steven Tran and Mariah Saratan contributed to the team's success in proposing a tool that allows astronauts to connect from a spacecraft to another docked to a retrieved asteroid. The team's design caught NASA's attention and a prototype was tested at the Johnson Space Center's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, a 6.2 million-gallon, zero-gravity simulation pool. If the design is selected, it could be manufactured and used in future missions.
