Claim tickets to see Kevin O'Leary, Fareed Zakaria

Tickets for the two remaining speakers in the 2016-17 Maverick Speakers Series are now available. Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary will speak on Thursday, Feb. 16, followed by host Fareed Zakaria on Tuesday, March 7. Both events will be at 7:30 p.m. in College Park Center.

VIP packages include a private dinner and photograph with the speaker. Preferred seating has front-of-the-line access to the venue. Cousteau says legacy important in conservation

Alexandra Cousteau shared her enthusiasm for maintaining a healthy and plentiful world water supply at the Maverick Speakers Series. Named a National Geographic emerging explorer, she is continuing the legacy of her grandfather, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and her father, Phillippe Cousteau. She spoke Thursday at Texas Hall. Executive interns named for President's office

Raoul Mendanha and Diana Ferreira are the first executive interns for the Office of the President. The interns support President Vistasp Karbhari and senior staff members in projects, research, and day-to-day operational tasks. Mendanha is a first year graduate student pursuing his MBA and has an interest in data analytics. He earned a degree in electrical and electronic engineering at Sathyabama University-Chennai in India. Ferreira of Houston is an undergraduate senior majoring in communications and minoring in journalism.


Virtual reality users group meets Monday

A new virtual reality user’s group for faculty and staff meets for the first time at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the LINK Research Lab in Room 246 in Nedderman Hall. Participate in discussions on how to collaboratively learn about, promote, research, and support various virtual reality initiatives at UTA. RSVP to Matt Crosslin at matt@uta.edu.

UTA partners with TouchNet

  TouchNet  

This month UTA will implement a new online credit card processing system. TouchNet is a third-party online payment system that provides a secure, fast, and efficient way for users to process payments online. Find TouchNet in MyMav.

With TouchNet, faculty and staff can access their UTA account anytime via mobile devices or through MyMav; schedule automatic payments; and designate authorized users to view an account or make a payment.

Early voting continues today at MAC

Today is the last day to cast your ballot at the early voting poll for the Nov. 8 election. UTA hosts a polling site 7 a.m.-7 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 4, at the Maverick Activities Center. Learn more about what's on the ballot at the Tarrant County Election Office and the Texas Secretary of State websites.
