James Campbell (Jim) Quick is John and Judy Goolsby Distinguished Professor.
Dr. Quick earned an A.B. with Honors from Colgate University, where he was a
George Cobb Fellow and a Harvard Business School Association intern. He earned
a Ph.D. from the University of Houston. Commissioned a second lieutenant in the
United State Air Force through AFROTC, Colonel Quick retired as the Senior Reserve
Officer to the Commander, San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly Air Force Base,
Texas on 1 July 2000.
Jim was honored with the 2002 Harry and Miriam Levinson Award by the American Psychological Foundation for his outstanding consulting with leaders and executives. He is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Institute of Stress, and was awarded a 2001 APA Presidential Citation. He was APA’s stress expert to the National Academy of Sciences for U.S. National Health Objectives 2000.
Jim is an international author and editor with over 100 books, book chapters, journal articles, clinical monographs, and encyclopedia entries in 10 languages. He and Debra L. Nelson coauthored Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities, & Challenges, 5th Edition (Thomson/Southwestern). He was been honored by his College and UTA colleagues with 7 research, teaching, and service awards. Jim is listed in Who's Who in the World (7th Edition), was awarded The Maroon Citation by the Colgate University Alumni Corporation, and The Legion of Merit by the U.S. Air Force.
Jim is married to the former Sheri Grimes Schember. They are both Paul Harris Fellows.
