Dr. Peggy Swanson

Peggy Swanson joined the faculty of the College of Business Administration at The University of Texas at Arlington in 1978. Her degrees include a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from The University of North Texas and a master’s and a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University. She has served in several administrative capacities during her tenure at UTA, and she has received numerous teaching awards (including induction into the Academy of Distinguished Teachers), the Distinguished Research Record Award, and distinguished service awards.

As a Professor of Finance, Dr. Swanson’s teaching and research interests are in the area of international finance. She has published more than 60 academically refereed journal articles, has served as reviewer for more than 25 academic journals, and currently serves as Associate Editor for two journals. Much of her research has been in the fields of global money markets, and her publications have appeared in journals such as Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Banking and finance, and Journal of Financial Research. She has presented her research at numerous professional meetings both within the United States and around the world.

Dr. Swanson holds NASD General Securities Registered Representative and State Securities Agent licenses and maintains an active involvement in the area of investing. She has been listed numerous times in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, among other honorary designations.
