Who we are
The tutors at the UTA Math Clinic are fellow students at UTA. We are all undergraduate students with some sort of mathematical experience and knowledge. As in life, we all have our own areas of expertise, but we are all generally proficient in all of the subjects we tutor.
Dr. Barbara Shipman (bshipman@uta.edu) is the faculty advisor and sponsor for the UTA Math Clinic. She is responsible for the administrative affairs of the clinic and the hiring.
The tutors are all undergraduate students from varying majors. We are not all Math majors. Surprisingly, a majority of the tutors are Engineering majors.
What we offer
At the UTA Math Clinic, we offer tutoring for students currently enrolled in the fourteen UT Arlington Math courses listed above.
Since the Math Clinic operates on a limited budget, sometimes you might have to wait a few minutes until the next available tutor can help you. We do try to keep your waiting time to a minimum and appreciate the patience of our students.
Math Departmental Finals are on the week or Saturday before the rest of university finals. Because of this unique situation, we are open late and have extra tutors during the week immediately before Finals Week. Come by and we can tell you the specific hours. They will be posted.
Click the link at left to view the assignment sheet for that class or you can dowload it in a PDF format. If the assignment sheet is not listed, it can be obtained from the Math office. There is no standard assignment sheet for MATH 3319; this varies with the instructor.
Due to Math Clinic and Departmental Policy, we are only able to help students currently enrolled in these fourteen courses at UTA. There are other tutoring sources available, and we will try to assist you in finding the best help for you. thank you for your understanding.
