Planning for the Future
The University of Texas at Arlington is in the midst of a major
transformation. Witness the thriving research university that UT Arlington has
become and the top-tier institution we continue to build.
The Achieving Recognition as a National Research University 2010-2020 (pdf) plan developed during the 2010-2011 academic year guides the University toward its Tier One objectives, specifying strategies and action steps, along with metrics for measuring progress.
It is now time to incorporate this research planning into an overarching University strategic plan.
The Mavericks on the Move University-wide plan has recently expired. Given the importance of engaging the campus community in strategic conversations to shape the goals for a new plan, the president has extended the timeframe for the Mavericks on the Move plan through 2012.
A University strategic planning committee chaired by Dr. Dana Dunn has been formed. The first task of the committee is to design and moderate a series of campus strategic conversations, which are taking place during the spring 2012 semester. The committee will use input from these discussions to develop goals, objectives, and strategies for a new strategic plan designed to carry the University forward through 2020.
By early fall 2012, the draft plan will be disseminated to the campus community for review and feedback.
