Upcoming vaccine clinics for faculty, staff, students, and family

UTA has established three more on-campus vaccine clinics to give you and your family convenient, free access to the FDA-approved Pfizer COVID‑19 vaccine. This includes first and second doses for all individuals 12 years and older and booster doses for eligible individuals.

These clinics, operated in partnership with Walmart, are free and open to all UTA students, employees, and their families and dependents. They will be held on a walk-in-only basis in the Group Exercise Room (101B) in the Maverick Activities Center:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 3 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 17 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 1 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students will receive a $50 gift card to the UTA Bookstore for each of the initial Pfizer doses received at our on-campus clinics. Gift cards will not be given to students for booster doses.

If you’re eligible to receive a booster shot, the CDC says it’s safe to mix and match among the three vaccine brands, meaning you can receive the Pfizer booster at any of the on-campus clinics even if your initial doses were not from Pfizer. Current (as of Nov. 1) eligibility requirements for booster shots are listed below.

  • If you received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines at least six months ago, you’re eligible for a booster shot if you are over the age of 65 or over the age of 18 with underlying medical conditions and/or living or working in long-term care or a high-risk setting.
  • If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago, you’re eligible for a booster shot as long as you’re over the age of 18.

If you do not presently qualify for a booster shot, please continue to monitor the CDC’s guidelines for updates. Contact covidvaccine@uta.edu with any questions.

UTA plans to offer standalone clinics specifically to support Mavericks with family and dependents between the ages of 5 and 11 when vaccines become available to that age group. We will update you when that time comes.

Moderna Mondays at UTA Health Services (students only)

Students can receive both doses of the Moderna vaccine free of charge through Health Services every Monday. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 817‑272‑2771. Students will receive a $50 gift card to the UTA Bookstore per COVID‑19 vaccine administered by Health Services. If you make an appointment to receive your first dose, Health Services staff will assist you with scheduling an appointment for your second dose.

If you have any questions, contact covidvaccine@uta.edu.
