A Message from Jennifer Cowley, Ph.D., incoming UTA president

April 8, 2022

Dear UTA community,

Starting today, we are seeking nominations and applications for UTA’s next Senior Vice President for Business and Finance as we launch our fourth active executive leadership search.

The Senior Vice President for Business and Finance serves as UTA’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the stewardship and administration of all the University’s financial resources as well as other administrative units. This individual will be responsible for the short- and long-term financial health of our institution. We are seeking strategic financial leaders with successful experience within complex organizations who can support and enhance the mission of the University.

A complete profile of this position is available on the webpage for the Senior Vice President for Business and Finance search. The 12-member Senior Vice President for Business and Finance Search Committee is chaired by Harry Dombroski, dean of the College of Business, and composed of faculty and staff with diverse roles across the University.

We are making remarkable progress toward filling senior leadership positions at UTA, and it wouldn’t be possible without the faculty, staff, and students volunteering their time to serve on search committees or supporting the processes behind the scenes. The provost search application deadline was earlier this week. We have a strong and diverse pool of approximately 60 applicants. The search committee is reviewing the applicants, and first-round interviews will occur in the second half of April. On-campus interviews are expected to be complete by mid-May.

I cannot overstate the value added by campus-wide engagement in these searches, so please continue to use our online channels for sharing your input and helping us identify qualified candidates. I greatly appreciate the interest and engagement from the campus community in this process.

Running several concurrent leadership searches is no simple undertaking, but it is a worthwhile effort and one that is enhanced by your continued partnership. I look forward to sharing further news and updates.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Cowley, Ph.D.
President-Designate
