The Shorthorn earns national accolades

  The Shorthorn Pacesetter Award  

For the second year in a row, UTA’s daily student-run news agency, The Shorthorn, has been named a Pacemaker among college newspapers by the Associated College Press. The Pacemaker award is considered the pre-eminent award among collegiate student media.

The Shorthorn received national recognition this fall from other organizations, including the College Media Association and Editor & Publisher. LEARN MORE.

Maverick athletes face busy weekend with SBC volleyball tourney, NCAA cross country championship

UTA hosts the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championship Friday-Sunday, Nov. 18-20, at College Park Center. The Lady Mavs play Little Rock at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are available at utatickets.com.

The Maverick cross country teams compete in the NCAA Championships this weekend in Terre Haute, Ind.

In Maverick basketball, the Lady Mavericks play Wichita State at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, and the men's team faces St. Francis at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, both at College Park Center.

Register UTA-owned mobile devices for new changes

The Office of Information Technology will implement AirWatch, a mobile device management (MDM) solution, to safeguard sensitive information against security threats. The new service will provide passcode protection and encryption to all UTA-owned mobile devices. Register your UTA mobile device by Tuesday, Nov. 22. LEARN MORE.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner with President Vistasp Karbhari 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in the Connection Cafe. The dinner is free with a meal plan.
