The Information Security Office has been made aware of a spear phishing attempt targeted at Texas State employees. The email attachment contains a virus and should not be opened.

Subject: Annual Form – Authorization to Use Privately Owned Vehicle on State Business

Attachment: Follows the naming convention of “Form_[random numbers and letters].zip – i.e. Form_20131010.zip

If you receive an email that has characteristics like those above, please forward it to security@uta.edu and delete the email from your inbox. If you suspect you have opened the email and its attachment, please contact the Helpdesk to open a ticket.
