Distance Education

If you're taking an online course, or your instructor supplements the classroom instruction with online courses, you'll find Center for Distance Education resources will help you. Make sure to check your syllabus and/or contact your instructor to make sure you access the correct resource.

Currently enrolled UT Arlington students can download professional Microsoft developer, designer, and gaming software through DreamSpark at no charge. Learn more about DreamSpark or see a list of available software.

All UT Arlington students have a 25GB mailbox size allocation. Even better, you can keep your MavMail address for life! The service on Microsoft Office 365 includes many other features like Office Web Apps, Skype, RSS Feeds, spam filter and much more.

With MyMav, the student information system, you can register, add and drop classes; review your account balances, due dates and make payments; check your grades and change your address. Learn how at MyMav Training.

Your NetID gives you access to UTA network resources from on- and off-campus. When you apply to UT Arlington you automatically receive a NetID account. Before you can use any network resources, you must activate your account and establish your own strong password. Manage your NetID at Self-Service.

Network Drives

Files on Network Drives are accessible from on- and off- campus and are backed up every night. You have 500Mb of storage on MavSpace, 160 Mb on your J: drive, and 100 Mb in your web publishing folder. When using computers in the OIT labs, you must save your files on the network drives; files saved on the hard drives are automatically deleted. For more information see File Storage and Sharing.

Network Access

There are more than 900 computers for you in the Computer Labs. Use your own personal computer on the Wireless Network – most of the campus area has wireless coverage. If you live on-campus, you can access UT Arlington network via Resnet; from off-campus with secure VPN. For more information see Network Connections.

You can print from the computers in the Computer Labs and your personal laptop in the labs. See Pharos Printing for information.
