Extreme mascot makeover
Blaze, UT Arlington's new mascot, debuted Nov. 12 at the men's and women's basketball games in Texas Hall. Students selected the horse to replace the Sam Maverick cowboy persona in spring 2007 elections. In a naming contest last fall, Blaze prevailed from a list of 10 options in online voting.
