Cooper Street Bridge Remodel

The North and South pedestrian bridges across Cooper will be revitalized throughout the Spring 2024 semester. A competitive student design competition inspired the bridge design in the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs.

North Bridge: The North Bridge is open from April 21st to Tuesday April 23rd.  The North Bridge will close 6 AM on Wednesday, April 24th.  It will remain closed though early May until project completion.

The South Bridge will temporarily close from Sunday, April 21st to Tuesday, April 23rd.  The South Bridge is set to reopen at 6 AM on Wednesday, April 24th.

The Central Bridge will remain open and available throughout this project.

Cooper Street will have nightly vehicle lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through mid-May.

Pedestrian accommodations are available to navigate this area, including using the Central Bridge, riding the Mav Mover shuttle buses, requesting an on-demand ride in the Late-Night Security Escort Service or in the self-driving shuttles, or by finding parking in alternative lots using the UTA Parking Finder app. For more personal accommodations, students can contact the SARS Center, and employees can contact their HR Business Partner
