Maverick Boot Camp
MAVERICK BOOT CAMP is an intense, exciting 1 hour workout sure to get your heart racing and your muscles burning! If you are serious about getting in great shape, join us at 6:30 am for the morning class or 5:30p for our evening class, to get lean, strong, and have great fun doing it. Each session will last 4-weeks with classes meeting twice per week on Mondays and Wednesdays.  A minimum of 10 participants will be required for the class to make.  A maximum of 30 participants can register for the class.

Jiu Jitsu
This class will teach the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu as popularized in the UFC. We will be teaching techniques, as well as live grappling in both the Gi (traditional martial arts uniform) and No-Gi (shorts and T-shirt) format. Males and females of all skill levels are welcome. Come learn one of the most dynamic and effective martial arts in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with a national and international competitor. Each session will last 4 weeks with classes meeting three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3-4:30p in MAC 133. A minimum of 10 participants is required for the class to make and a maximum of 40 can sign up.

CPR/AED
Each session consists of a single four hour class, covering the American Heart Association’s first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, adult CPR and AED use. Participants who successful complete the class will receive an American Heart Association certification card valid for two years.  A minimum of 4 participants is required for the class to make; a maximum of 6 participants per class.

Women’s Strength Training
This is a 6-week basic strength training class for women only.  This course is an activity based course which educates participants on the weight room and how to utilize its equipment. Additional topics include: testing and evaluation of current fitness levels, resistance training techniques, training program design, and combining a weight training routine with a cardiovascular program.  A minimum of 5 participants is required for the class to make and maximum of 15 may sign up and participate.

Weight Training/Strength Training

Walking for Fitness
This is a gentle, low impact, group walking class that can help ease you into a higher level of fitness and health.  Each session will meet twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4p-5p for a safe, simple workout.  A minimum of 10 participants is required for the class to make; a maximum of 30 participants can sign up.  Come walk your way to health on campus in a fun, inviting, and encouraging group atmosphere!

Poker
This class is designed for people wanting to learn more about Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, the Cadillac of Poker.  Topics will include:  Mechanics and Rules, History of Poker, Etiquette of Poker, Theory of Poker, Strategies of Poker and Tournament Play vs. Cash Game Play.  This is a 4-week class that meets once per week for one hour on Thursday evenings from 7-8p in the upstairs classroom 213 in the MAC.  A minimum of 8 participants is required for the class to make with a maximum of 20 participants allowed.

Ball Room Dancing
What:  Each session is a 6-week training program designed to teach and train Latin ballroom dancing dances and skills. Classes will meet twice per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30p-9:00p in MAC 102A.  Latin ballroom dances such as Rumba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Jive and Samba will be the focus of the program. This program aims to promote ballroom dancing as a sport and not merely as a social activity. Skills such as proper footwork, timing, and rhythm will be introduced and developed. Leather-soled shoes for men and heels for women (if allowed) are encouraged. This class will meet twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays for 6 weeks.  A minimum of 10 participants will be required for this class to make.  A maximum of 20 participants can register for the class.
