Two UTA journalism majors have been offered paid internships for summer 2012 through the Dow Jones News Fund program.

Bryan Bastible will be a copy editor and page designer at the Beaumont Enterprise. Jose Enriquez will be a copy editing intern at The Dallas Morning News.

The Dow Jones News Fund, formerly known as the Newspaper Fund, was organized in 1958 to improve the quality of journalism education and the pool of applicants for jobs in the news business.

The Fund offered its first fellowships for high school journalism teachers of $1,000 each in 1959. DJNF provides paid summer internships in business reporting, news, multimedia and sports copy editing for juniors, seniors and graduate students.

Both Bastible and Enriquez are staff members of The Shorthorn, UTA's student newspaper.
