Certified Leaders Institute
About the Program
The Certified Leaders Institute allows students to receive a certificate in leadership training after completing a series of two workshops. The first Institute will occur each fall and will cover fundamental leadership skills. The second Institute occurs each spring and will cover advanced topics such as critical social analysis of leadership.
Receiving a Certificate
Students must attend both the fall and spring Institute in order to receive a certificate in leadership training. Students are not able to register for the spring institute if they have not attended in the fall. A student who misses the spring institute one year can complete their certificate by attending the session the following spring. Certificates will not be given to students who only attend the fall session.
The Certified Leaders Institutes cover topics such as:
- Running an effective meeting
- Communicating effectively
- Setting goals
- Working with others
- Ethical decision making
- Empowering others
- Emotional intelligence
Who Should Attend
Any student who wants to learn practical leadership skills should attend. Students who serve as leaders in any student organizations are highly encouraged to attend. This program is open to both undergraduate and graduate UTA students. Please note, the attire is business casual.
