About Global Engagement Assessments

Global Engagement assessments are a great way to enhance intercultural competencies, become more skilled at engaging with people from different backgrounds. Our staff are trained administrators of two of the world’s leading intercultural assessments: The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and Intercultural Effectiveness Scale (IES). We offer these to any audience at UTA that is interested in developing global and cultural competencies, including academic classes, student organizations, co-curricular programs, and faculty and staff departmental training.

Intercultural Development Inventory

The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is used by thousands of individuals and organizations to build intercultural competence to achieve international and domestic diversity inclusion goals. The IDI utilizes the Intercultural Development Continuum to describe a set of knowledge, attitudes and skillsets toward cultural difference and commonality ranging from monocultural to intercultural mindsets.

Intercultural Effectiveness Scale

The Intercultural Effectiveness Scale (IES) evaluates competencies essential for effective interaction with people from different cultures and demographic backgrounds. The IES assesses how much an individual has learned about different cultures, ethnic groups, and backgrounds; how well an individual builds and maintains positive relationships with people from other cultures; and how well an individual manages stress when adapting to and working with diverse cultures and foreign environments.
