Division of Student Affairs - The University of Texas at Arlington

July 16, 2020

Dear Maverick Parents and Families,

Congratulations on a new semester in your UTA Maverick’s learning experience at The University of Texas at Arlington!

We understand that recent months have been unusual for all of us and certainly unlike any other that your student has experienced before. They’ve overcome a lot of adversity, and we admire their resilience.

We are looking forward to welcoming each student this fall as Mavericks and ensuring they receive the excellent education that UTA is known for. Our faculty and staff having been working tirelessly to ensure that all students have an environment that is safe to learn and live in.

At UTA, we offer more than 180 programs for baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Our academic programs are nationally recognized, grounded in excellence, and fueled by engagement. We don’t just help our students see the world; we inspire them to change it—one semester at a time.

Our accomplished faculty are world-renowned for their expert knowledge and groundbreaking research. What happens at UTA can change the world, and our Mavericks have shown us that they’re ready to make their own contribution.

UTA is a Community that Cares, and our dedicated faculty and staff are working diligently to prepare for the upcoming semester. We’ve created a webpage dedicated to keeping you updated about the Fall 2020 Semester, including details about face-to-face, hybrid, and online class options and a student resources page for all of our Mavericks.

We’ve created a detailed plan to keep our students safe in the fall by conducting regular and thorough sanitation and cleaning; encouraging social distancing; minimizing on-campus presence through smaller in-person classes; and emphasizing personal responsibilities with respect to the use of face coverings, frequent handwashing, personal hygiene, and staying home when sick.

We appreciate the trust you place in us when you send your student to be educated at UTA, and we feel that responsibility keenly.  You can visit our page dedicated to Maverick Parents to find out more about the student experience and all the opportunities available for your Maverick. Additionally, you can find information on how families can deepen their connection to the University and support your student through the Maverick Parent & Family Association.

We’re excited to welcome our students to UTA and ask for your help in supporting them for an enriching, safe, and successful fall semester and beyond. Mav Up!

Sincerely,

Teik C. Lim
