Tickets

Tickets are required for all students – and for all guests attending the ceremony, including children over the age of two (no strollers allowed). Please inform your guests that the main doors to College Park Center will open one hour prior to each ceremony. Tickets will be distributed via your MAV email address on a date TBD (closer to the event).

Holding Areas & The Commencement Ceremony

The College will conduct commencement in alphabetical order by department. However, Ph.D. and Master Degree recipients will process before undergraduates. There will not be a rehearsal prior to the ceremonies. Candidates must report to Gate 1 - the west doors of College Park Center (practice gyms) no later than 1:30 p.m. to attend the 3:00 ceremony. Candidates will be grouped in different holding areas by the department. At the tables in each holding area, students will pick up a name card, placed in a pre-determined order and given instructions concerning the ceremony. NO personal items may be left in the gym/waiting area or carried on stage – this cell phones, purses, cameras, etc. We anticipate that the ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.

Cap and Gown

Regalia, including tassels and Honor Cords, must be purchased from the University Bookstore prior to the ceremony. You should have received information from the Bookstore about purchasing regalia, but if not, please contact them to place your order. No one will be allowed to walk in the ceremony without proper regalia. Please note that the tassel color for The College of Liberal Arts is white. Ph.D. tassels are gold, regardless of college.
