  • All shaded classes are free to all MAC members.

  • Participants must have activated ID and will only be granted access to class up to 5 minutes after posted class time.

  • Participation is limited to space and equipment availability.

  • Classes with low attendance may be removed from the schedule.

  • All classes must have a minimum of two participants.

  • Classes held on the West Lawn are subject to cancellation due to weather.

 

Advanced YogaThe Hatha Yoga method is a great place to start since it teaches postures, conscious breathing and relaxation techniques for a full-body workout. Challenge your endurance with this class that will go for 90 minutes, recommended for intermediate to advanced levels.

All About AbsA 30-minute focusing on strengthening and stretching the entire core, this includes not only your abdominal muscles but your back muscles as well. This class is highly recommended to increase core stability and strength.

All About Arms & Ab RxA 30-minute class to achieve the sculpted arms and shoulders you’ve always wanted in this tank-top ready workout. Followed by a 20-minute session focusing on strengthening and stretching the entire core, this includes not only your abdominal muscles but your back muscles as well. This class is highly recommended to increase core stability and strength.

All About Legs & Ab Rx A 30-minute class to strengthen and tone the lower half. Followed by a 20-minute session focusing on strengthening and stretching the entire core, this includes not only your abdominal muscles but your back muscles as well. This class is highly recommended to increase core stability and strength. Get ready to burn some calories!

Barre 101 - Set to fun and energetic music, each class incorporates an upper body workout with weights and a combination of high-intensity sequences of the thigh, seat, and core exercises.  Improving strength, more elongated muscles, and flexibility are key. Each class is designed to leave you feeling invigorated, challenged, and inspired.

Cycle - Go for a spin! This ride is for everyone. Try this class of high intensity, medium impact cardio training in your target heart rate zone. Towel and water required.

Foam Rolling – Would you like to learn how to improve your flexibility, increase blood flow and circulation and reduce injuries or pain? Join us for an educational and interactive foam rolling class where you will learn to use this valuable rehab tool. Let us teach you how using a foam roller can be an integral part of a healthy and active lifestyle.

*This class is taught by Airrosti and is a FREE class to all MAC Members. Current university faculty/staff that do not have a MAC membership may also participate but must sign up through the Human Resources training website. These classes are scheduled every other Friday on the following dates: 1/27, 2/10, 2/24, 3/10, 3/24, 4/7, 4/21, and 5/5.

Gentle YogaA calming, stress-relieving yoga class to stretch and strengthen the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and body. Asanas are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail. Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience.

Hip Hop Cardio - Dance your way into fitness! This class is structured to offer an intense cardiovascular workout, in addition to teaching basic Hip Hop movements and technique you’ll be having so much fun, you won’t want to stop. The class is open to all levels and requires no prior dance experience.

Maverick Boot Camp - an INTENSE, exciting one-hour workout sure to get your heart racing and your muscles burning! The class format and programming will be varied to challenge you in new ways, test will, and push past limits. Exercise selection includes bodyweight work, kettlebells, medicine balls, sandbags, Prowler work, cone drills, agility ladders, and the creativity of our instructor!

Meditation Basics- A meditation class with a systematic training of the mind to bring about tranquility, increased sense of awareness, clarity, and strengthening of mind. By continuous practice, the senses are controlled by the mind, and an inner consciousness is developed which leads to intellectual development.

Pilates - The Pilates Method is a full-body conditioning program that develops deep abdominal and back strength, together with increased flexibility and ease of movement.  This class is aimed at “core stability”, designed to work on lengthening muscles to help tone and strengthen muscles, using breathing to enhance relaxation.

Simplified Yoga & Meditations – This class teaches a system of simple physical exercises to fulfill the need of maintaining proper circulation of air, blood, heat and bio-magnetic energy ensuring maintenance of health and prevention of disease in a gentle way. This class is combined with simple meditation techniques for clarity and strengthening of mind and deepening your spiritual understanding.

SUP Yoga This class takes yoga to another level. Stand up paddle board yoga is one of the fastest growing water sports and forms of yoga around. Bringing the benefits of yoga from land to water adds a unique element and fun challenge. Being on the water encourages stronger core work and increased balance demands.

*This class is limited to 8 participants and will end on Friday, March 31st 2017.

TRX – Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously.  Use of the TRX Suspension Trainer leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete a variety of exercises.

TRX Sport - Run, jump and sprint your way into physical fitness with sport inspired movements. This High-intensity interval circuit style training course is designed to get you heart rate up and improve functional movement patterns through the integration of TRX suspension trainer, ropes, plyometrics and resistance training.  Max # of 15 participants.

Water Fitness - Exercise with a splash!  This aerobics class is designed especially for those wanting to improve their health, mobility and body composition.  This low-intensity format uses water to increase flexibility, strength, endurance and cardio fitness without the impact of land aerobics.

Yoga - The Hatha yoga method is a great place to start since it teaches postures, conscious breathing and relaxation techniques for a full-body workout.  Learning the basic points of alignment for each pose is the focus of this class.  

Zumba - Get ready to party yourself into shape! This exhilarating, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ will move YOU!

*This schedule will run from Tuesday, January 17th through Friday, May 5th. We will not offer any classes the week of Spring Break, March 12th – 18th.
