Descriptions

Ab Rx - 30-minute session focusing on strengthening and stretching the entire core, this includes not only your abdominal muscles, but your back muscles as well. This class is highly recommended to increase core stability and strength.

All About Arms - 30 minute class to achieve the sculpted arms and shoulders you've always wanted in this tank- top ready workout.

All About Legs - 30 minute class to strengthen and tone the lower half. Get ready to burn some calories!

Aqua Zumba - The "pool party" workout for all ages. A safe, effective and challenging water-based workout that integrates the Zumba® formula and philosophy into traditional aqua fitness disciplines.

Barre 101 - Set to fun and energetic music, each class incorporates an upper body workout with weights and a combination of high-intensity sequences of thigh, seat and core exercises.  Improving strength, more elongated muscles, and flexibility are key. Each class is designed to leave you feeling invigorated, challenged, and inspired.

Cycle - Go for a spin! This ride is for everyone. Try this class of high intensity, medium impact cardio training in your target heart rate zone. Towel and water required.

Cycle Express - Get in a quick ride! Try this class of high intensity, medium impact cardio training in your target heart rate zone. Towel and water required.

Hip Hop Cardio - Dance your way into fitness! This class is structured to offer an intense cardiovascular workout, in addition to teaching basic Hip Hop movements and technique you’ll be having so much fun, you won’t want to stop. The class is open to all levels and requires no prior dance experience.

H2O Fitness - Exercise with a splash!  This aerobics class is designed especially for those wanting to improve their health, mobility, and body composition. This low intensity format uses water to increase flexibility, strength, endurance and cardio fitness without the impact of land aerobics.

Maverick Boot Camp - an INTENSE, exciting one hour workout sure to get your heart racing and your muscles burning! The class format and programming will be varied to challenge you in new ways, test will, and push past limits. Exercise selection includes: bodyweight work, kettlebells, medicine balls, sandbags, Prowler work, cone drills, agility ladders, and the creativity of our instructor!

Pilates - The Pilates Method is a full-body conditioning program that develops deep abdominal and back strength, together with increased flexibility and ease of movement.  This class is aimed at “core stability”, designed to work on lengthening muscles to help tone and strengthen muscles, using breathing to enhance relaxation.

PILOXING- uniquely blends the power, speed, and agility of boxing with exhilarating dance moves and targeted sculpting and flexibility of Pilates.

POUND - Full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 30-minute series.

Tabata – Supercharge your fitness and fat loss. High intensity interval training includes structured 20-second high-intensity anaerobic work intervals followed by a 10-second rest, repeated.

Total Body Pump - It’s time for the next level of training. Your muscular strength and endurance will be tested during the class. A total body workout that is challenging yet rewarding. Great for all levels of fitness!

TRX – Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously.  Use of the TRX Suspension Trainer leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete a variety of exercises.

Yoga - The Hatha yoga method is a great place to start since it teaches postures, conscious breathing and relaxation techniques for a full-body workout.  Learning the basic points of alignment for each pose is the focus of this class. 

Yoga Basics - This class will serve as an introduction to the basic poses in a Hatha Yoga class, with an emphasis on alignment, adjustments and modifications. Breathing exercises will also be introduced. This class is specifically designed for students new to yoga.

Yoga Sculpt - Yoga Sculpt flows through basic yoga postures while incorporating light to moderate hand weights and other resistance training equipment such as bands and gliders. Experience an effective, quick, yet well-balanced practice while isolating certain muscle groups to enhance flexibility and strength.

Zumba® - Get ready to party yourself into shape! This exhilarating, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ will move YOU!

The first week of classes each semester is FREE!  Schedule and enroll at the Services and Information Desk of the MAC.  Various scheduled classes may be designated as free each semester.

Policies

All classes are free the first week of the semester. 


Participants must have activated ID and will only be granted access to class up to 5 minutes after posted class time.


Participation is limited to space and equipment availability.


Classes with low attendance may be removed from the schedule.
All classes must have a minimum of two participants.

Due to risk management, children under the age of 18 may not use the cardio equipment, weight equipment, indoor track or participate in group exercise classes.
