Desktop Support Technicians provide software and hardware solutions for departments, faculty, staff, and coordinates work with other OIT groups.

The Desktop Support Team provides the following services:

How to Request Assistance and Important Information you need to provide

  • Use our IT Help site to request assistance or review your open call tickets
  • E-mail the Help Desk at
  • Chat with a Help Desk agent
  • Call the Help Desk at 817.272.2208

Include all the following information

  • Your name
  • Building and Room #
  • Direct Office Phone number 
  • UTA # of the machine
  • E-mail
  • Description of your request or issue you are experiencing

What to Expect When You Request Assistance 

You will receive an e-mail with your call ticket number, and depending on type of request the following will occur: 

  • IF request or incident can be handled without you being onsite
    • A Desktop technician will call you to let you know they are working on your call ticket
      • If you cannot be reached by phone, they will go to departments main office to request access to your office
  • IF request or incident requires you be onsite
    • A Desktop technician will call you to schedule date/time when you will be onsite
      • If you cannot be reached by phone, they will send a follow-up e-mail that will include their contact information
      • You can call or e-mail technician to schedule date/time for them to go onstie to meet with you
  • During the work process, the Desktop technician will provide major status updates.
  • When the request is resolved, you will receive a resolution notice that will include link to a short customer satisfaction survey
